Excellent storyline. Outstanding battle scenes. Politics worthy of today’s real world, a reflection upon the real story of Caesar and how he was reamed by the Roman Senate.BUT…will these guys actually finish their storyline, and will it be more fulfilling that the Honor Harrington series? I don’t know, because you cannot trust a David Weber series. Perhaps Fox can bring this home. I hope he does, because based upon this first novel, it would be worth it. As for David Weber, no chance I’d ever trust him, or John Ringo, for that matter. If you're a David Weber fan, you're in for a treat. Weber has not lost his mojo. How much co-author Richard Fox contributed I can't say, never having read any of his novels. But I now plan to correct that. I do hope the next novel in this series is at least near to publication, as I'll be awaiting it with great anticipation. The next one will no doubt focus on the political intrigues that Murphy has aroused. That's something else Weber excells at and of course there will be more battles to be fought. Clearly there are parallels between the novel's Five Hundred families authoritarian rule and our real life Global elite's planned "Great Reset" in which they plan to direct the public's lives, all for the "greater good". Though unlike the Five Hundred, our real life Global Elite is upfront about the need to reduce the population. Plus, what a creepy slogan they have, "you will own nothing and be happy". But you can bet they'll own plenty. Its really sad. They've yet to learn that, they've chosen... poorly.
